Our story
Metaphoric was founded by David and Katherine, a husband-and-wife team passionate about design. After fourteen years in Austin, we saw an opportunity to bring something new to the city's evolving design landscape: premium European furniture with a distinctly personal touch.
Our journey began in Monterrey, Mexico, where Rocio — David's mother and an experienced interior designer — opened her own showroom over fifteen years ago. Her refined eye and devotion to quality laid the foundation for what Metaphoric is today, and her vision continues to shape our expansion into the U.S. market.
Today, we blend more than two decades of design experience with international partnerships to offer carefully curated collections from Europe's most celebrated brands alongside original Latin American art and custom Mexican craft. As a U.S. and Mexico based company, our cross-cultural perspective lets us cater to a wide range of tastes — always with an emphasis on elegance, craftsmanship, and functionality.
