Returns and Refunds
We want every piece to be right in your home. What that means in practice depends on what you bought, so this policy is in four parts.
Whatever you bought: if it arrives damaged, or it is not what was confirmed on your order, tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs of the piece exactly as it arrived, and we will repair, replace or refund it. Reports made after 48 hours are not covered.
In-stock objects and accessories
Tabletop, decor, objects and anything else shown as in stock and shipped from our Austin showroom.
Return them within 30 days of delivery for a refund to your original payment method. The piece needs to come back unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by you; there is no restocking fee.
Email hello@metaphoricshop.com with your order number to start, and we will send you instructions.
Made-to-order and custom pieces
Most of our furniture is built for you after you order: your fabric, your finish, your dimensions. Nothing goes into production until we have confirmed every detail with you in writing.
Because the piece does not exist until you order it, made-to-order and custom pieces cannot be returned for a change of mind.
A deposit is taken when you order, confirmed with you on the order itself. You can cancel within three days of paying your deposit and we refund it in full. After those three days your order is in production and cannot be cancelled.
Floor samples
Pieces sold off our showroom floor are sold as seen, at a floor price, and are final sale. Come and look at one before you buy it, and ask us anything about its condition. We will tell you.
Original art
Works by the artists we represent are final sale.
Every work is inspected and condition-checked before it leaves us, and arrives crated or wrapped to museum standard. Please inspect your work when it arrives and tell us within 48 hours of delivery if anything is wrong. If a work arrives damaged, stop unpacking it, photograph it exactly as it is, and contact us the same day.
