Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2026.
This policy explains what Metaphoric collects, why, and who else touches it.
What we collect
Information you give us through our contact, trade application and newsletter forms: your name, email, phone and business details. If you buy from us, your order and payment details, which are processed securely by Shopify. We never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically as you browse: pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
We remember how you first found our website (for example, a search engine or an email from us) and which page you arrived on, and attach that to your order, so we can understand which of our marketing works. This stays with us and is not shared with advertisers.
How we use it
To answer your inquiries, review trade applications, fulfil and deliver your order, understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and show our ads to people who have visited the site (see below).
To send our newsletter. Some of our forms tick the newsletter box for you: you can untick it before you send the form, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Analytics and advertising on this site
We would rather name these tools than hide them behind a phrase like "standard site usage data":
- Google Analytics 4, loaded through a Google Tag Manager container, to measure how the site is used.
- Google Ads, loaded through the same Google tag, so we can show our ads on Google to people who have visited this site ("remarketing").
- Meta Pixel, loaded through the same container, to measure visits from Facebook and Instagram and to show our ads there to people who have visited this site. Advanced Matching, which would send hashed contact details to Meta, is switched off.
- Rybbit, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies to follow you between sites. It is loaded directly rather than through the tag manager.
We also use Sentry to record technical errors so we can fix them.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga so it can count returning visits. Google Ads sets _gcl_au and Meta sets _fbp for advertising. We set our own mp_ad_consent to remember your advertising choice, mp_journey to remember how you found the site (see What we collect), and price_unlocked if you unlock trade pricing. Rybbit sets no cookies.
Who else processes your information
Shopify (checkout and orders), MailerLite (email), Google (analytics, advertising and tag management), Meta (advertising and measurement), Sentry (error monitoring), and our payment processors. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Sharing with manufacturers and shipping companies
We do not share your information with the manufacturers who build our pieces or with the shipping companies who move them, except in the rare case where it is genuinely needed to fulfil our agreement with you. When that happens we share the minimum required and nothing more.
Selling and sharing for advertising
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do use Google and Meta to show our ads to people who have visited this site. Some state laws, including California's, call that "sharing" personal information for advertising. You can turn it off at any time on our Your privacy choices page (https://metaphoricshop.com/privacy/choices), which is also linked at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as that same opt-out automatically.
Your choices
Turn off advertising cookies on our Your privacy choices page (https://metaphoricshop.com/privacy/choices). Unsubscribe from our emails at any time, from any email. Write to us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. If you are in a state or country with statutory privacy rights, we honour them regardless of where you live.
You can also refuse cookies through your browser settings or a tracker-blocking extension, and the site will work normally.
