Edgar Bacalao

From the Mexican Caribbean, trained in Veracruz, shown at Christie's London. Bacalao works across painting, sculpture, and printmaking with the visceral instincts of someone who came up through engraving — gesture, body, emotion pressed into surface. Co-founder of Arte Cocodrilo; director of the 10/10 ORIENTE printmaking workshop. Residencies in South Korea. His work doesn't decorate a room — it stakes a claim in it.
