"This piece imagines the tree as a silent witness. While we move through our days engaging with architecture, with each other, with our thoughts, the tree remains still, watching. It observes everything: the pace, the distractions, the way we get caught up in ourselves. From its quiet place, it sees us come and go, act and react, often without noticing its presence at all. But once in a while, someone looks up. Someone pauses. There’s a brief moment of recognition of something older, quieter, and more rooted than all the motion around it. The tree doesn't demand attention, but it welcomes it. And in that exchange, something shifts. We remember we’re not just in our minds. There’s something outside of us, and also something more whole within us, that is always paying attention. This work invites that pause: to look up, to feel the stillness, to realize we’re being witnessed. Not judged, not measured just gently observed. And perhaps, in noticing that, we remember to slow down, to inhabit the present, and to reconnect with something more essential than the rush of thought."
